WIRED
CAMERAS:
All
of our wired
cameras are designed to operate utilizing our Power
& Video All In One Cables available in varying
lengths,which are included with
our Complete Systems and are also
available in
our Accessories section. These thin
(approximately 1/8" X 1/4" thickness) molded dual
cables provide a path for both video
and camera power. At the camera end, simply attach the cable RCA
connector to the RCA
connector on the camera. Attach the remaining power connector side of
the cable
to the power connector on the camera. At the receiving end, where your
DVR,
VCR, TV or Monitor is located, simply connect the RCA connectors to the
input
of your recording or monitoring device. Plug in the small power supply
which
comes with your camera to a 120 VAC power outlet and connect the
output of the power supply to the remaining side of the dual All In One
Cable.
Power will be transported over the cable to your camera. Video will be
transported over the other cable from the camera back to your receiver. The
cables can be run through attics, above suspended
ceilings or through crawl spaces beneath floors. The cameras mount with
small
screws and can be aimed and locked into position using the attached
thumbscrew.
A power drill is recommended if the cables are to be run through solid
walls,
floors or ceilings. If the cable is to be run to an exterior camera
location,
it is advisable that you reseal the remaining hole containing the cable
with
silicon (readily available at hardware and auto parts stores) to keep
out the weather, etc.
A
word of caution. The cable ends are not
the same. One end of the cable is specifically designed to
connect to the camera and the other end to your receiving device.
Before you run your cable, insure that the proper connectors will be
located at each end.

If
you are not comfortable with doing the installation yourself you may
want to hire a Handyman or Licensed Electrical Contractor to
perform the installation.
Tip - If the installation requires running cables externally across a wall or ceiling, purchase a product called Wiremold available in various colors from your local electrical or electronic supplier. This will make your installation look nice.

WIRELESS
CAMERAS:
All
of our wireless
cameras are equipped with a wireless
transmitter and will require a power source at or near the site of the camera, either power supply or battery pack. The small power
supply must be
plugged in to a 120 VAC power outlet within approximately 6 feet of the
camera
location with the remaining end plugged into the camera. You may also
incorporate cabling ( found in Accessories section)
to run from the camera to a nearby, convenient location with AC
power which will then connect the camera to a power source and
the wireless transmitter. The wireless
receiver is then attached to your DVR, VCR, TV or Monitor with
the supplied RCA connector.
The wireless cameras can also be powered by a rechargeable battery pack
available in our Accessories
section
and will provide 8-10 hours of continuous operation on a charge. This
eliminates the need for a power outlet at the mounting point of the
camera or auxiliary cabling.

The
standard wireless range of our wireless cameras is 1000
feet. Our high power (signified by "HP"
in the model number) wireless camera
models are capable of wireless ranges up to 2500 feet. Due to frequency
restrictions, a maximum of four wireless cameras are permitted per
installation.
Although
not listed on each camera page, all of our wireless
cameras can be ordered with the increased high power wireless range of
2500
feet. Contact us for a quote on the camera(s) you are interested in.
If
you are not comfortable with doing the installation yourself you may
want to hire a Handyman or Licensed Electrical Contractor to
perform the installation.
One final note - If your wireless transmitter(s) and/or receiver(s) are located in close proximity to a hot spot of wireless activity (like wireless internet), this can not only degrade your video reception but may even interrupt or affect your other wireless activities.
